Rider Bet Privacy Policy for Canadian Players
How Zafiro Interactive S.A. Acts as Data Controller
Zafiro Interactive S.A., based at Calle 9, Barrio Escalante, San José, Costa Rica, operates Rider Bet and decides why and how your personal information is processed. This policy follows the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for residents of Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25). Every request about your data goes to [email protected].
How Your Data Travels Outside Canada
Our servers and our operator sit in Costa Rica, so the information you give us leaves Canada when you register. Each transfer is protected by TLS 256-bit encryption in transit, and we bind our service providers by contract to use your information only for the purpose we give them and to protect it to the same standard as we do. Your information can therefore be reached by courts and authorities in those countries under their own laws.
How Long We Keep Your Records
We keep your account data while the account is open. After you close it, we retain identity documents and transaction records for at least five years to meet anti-money laundering obligations, and we then delete or anonymize them. Technical logs are kept for a shorter period and are used only for security and fraud checks. Marketing preferences are deleted when you withdraw consent.
How We Share Data With Payment and Game Partners
We pass only the data a partner needs to do its job. Payment partners receive your name, amount and transaction details: Interac e-Transfer, iDebit, Instadebit, MuchBetter, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Paysafecard, Skrill and Neteller, plus the crypto networks for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and USDT. Game providers such as Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, Play’n GO, Evolution Gaming, Ezugi, Playtech Live and Vivo Gaming receive a player identifier and session data so that rounds can be played and settled. Identity documents are reviewed by our own verification team and are not sent to game providers. We never sell personal information.
How to Complain to a Privacy Authority
If we do not resolve your concern, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Residents of Quebec can also complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec. We ask you to write to us first, so we can answer within 30 days, but you are free to go to either authority at any time.
How We Obtain Your Consent
We ask for express consent before we process sensitive information such as identity documents, and you give it by ticking the boxes on the registration form and by uploading documents during verification. For routine processing, such as running your account and settling bets, consent is implied by your use of the service. We collect and use information to run your account, process payments, verify age and identity, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations such as anti-money laundering reporting.
Information We Collect From You and Your Device
At registration we collect your email address, password, currency and the details you add later, such as your name, date of birth and address. Payments add the method used, amounts and timestamps. Verification adds copies of your driver’s licence, passport or provincial photo ID card, a proof of address and a void cheque or bank statement. Our servers record your IP address, device type, browser and the pages you open, as well as logs of logins and failed attempts.
How Cookies, Analytics and Marketing Emails Work
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages work, and preference cookies to remember settings. Accept or decline the optional categories in the cookie banner, or clear cookies in your browser at any time. Under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we send promotional emails only with your consent, and every message carries an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.
How to Exercise Your Rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct anything inaccurate and to withdraw your consent, understanding that withdrawing consent for data we must keep by law will not delete it. Residents of Quebec also have the right to ask that we stop disseminating their information (de-indexation) and to receive it in a structured, commonly used format (portability) under Law 25. We reply within 30 days.
How to Send a Data Request
Write to [email protected] from the email address of your account and say which right you want to use. We may ask you to confirm your identity with a document you have already sent us, so that your information never reaches someone else. You can also open the live chat through the Live Support item in the side menu, which answers around the clock.
